Details

Under the Paris Agreement and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the UK must submit a Biennial Transparency Report every 2 years.

This first UK Biennial Transparency Report provides details of:

  • the UK’s mitigation efforts to reduce greenhouse gases
  • our approach on adaptation covering the period from 1990 to 2022
  • our support for developing countries to tackle climate change

The report, its accompanying Common Tabular Format (CTF) tables and the National Inventory Document (NID) can be found on the UNFCCC website.

The next report will be submitted in 2026.

Biennial Transparency Reports are technical, factual reports that the UK is required to submit as part of the UK’s treaty commitments under the Paris Agreement (Article 11) and that must be drafted in line with the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) guidelines.
