1 December 2022: First working group of the UK-Egypt Agriculture Tariff Review
Published 9 November 2023
Under incorporated Article 15 of the UK–Egypt Association Agreement, the UK and Egypt have a biannual requirement to meet and consider granting further tariff liberalisation of agriculture and fisheries products.
The UK and Egypt met on 1 December 2022 to formally launch the first working group of the Agriculture Tariff Review, which will meet again in the new year.
The parties agreed that the process should be underpinned by quality data. As such, the parties agreed to share preferential tariff schedules and preference utilisation rate data by 1 March 2023.
The UK and Egypt look forward to continuing the discussion in the new year.
