1. Summary of discussion
- The parties agreed to adopt the UK-RM Rules of Procedure. Both the English and Romanian versions had been agreed via correspondence ahead of the sub-committee.
- The UK and Republic of Moldova delegations made presentations on their GI schemes and answered questions on application processes, protections afforded and the enforcement of GIs.
- The UK informed the Republic of Moldova that GI protection for the name Swaledale Cheese had been cancelled. It is no longer a GI protected product in the UK.
- The UK and the Republic of Moldova confirmed their intentions to share lists of further products to be considered for GI protection under this agreement.
- The parties agreed the operational conclusions and actions to take forward from the meeting.
- The parties thanked each other for a successful second meeting.
- The parties agreed to determine the date of the next meeting by correspondence.
