UK national certificates

Certificates issued under national weights and measures legislation.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) publishes certificates issued under national legislation. OPSS issues certificates for the following instrument types:

• Cubic measures
• Intoxicating liquor measuring instruments:
  • beer and wine metering systems
  • spirit measuring instruments
• Weighing instruments not using the action of gravity (for example gyroscopic NAWI) used for legal purposes

OPSS used to issue certificates for other instrument types concerning water or other liquids. These are no longer updated by OPSS. Accordingly, the legacy GOV.UK pages on which they were presented were unpublished. Certificates issued up to 2016 remain available for reference and as a matter of public record on the National Archives.
