Item 1: Welcome and Introductions

  • The Chair welcomed the Steering Board (SB) to the July meeting.

Item 2: Minutes and Actions from Previous Meeting

  • The minutes from the March SB meeting were confirmed as accurate.
  • The UK NCP updated the Board on the status of the outstanding action from the March meeting.
  • The Steering Board were satisfied these had been noted and acted upon by the UK NCP.

Item 3: Updates

Updates to UK NCP team members

  • The Chair of the Board updated the Steering Board on new staff that have joined the UK NCP.

NCP engagement/policy update

  • The UK NCP updated the SB on recent engagements to promote the OECD Guidelines and UK NCP to both industry and civil society.

Post Election Update

  • The Steering Board discussed what changes to the government might means for the work of the UK NCP and the broader RBC policy agenda.

Item 4: UK NCP Case Update

Current case overview

  • The UK NCP updated the Board on its current caseload, noting that the caseload remains high.

Procedural Review

  • The UK NCP flagged that they need a HMG Board member to volunteer for a Procedural Review that has been submitted to the NCP.

Role of Contract Counsel

  • The UK NCP updated the Board on a planned pilot project to use contract counsel to support with case work.

Item 5: Rules of Procedure Update 

Mediation

  • The UK NCP updated the Board on plans to move to a model of both in-house mediation alongside external mediators.

Confidentiality

  • The UK NCP updated the Board on plans to update its terms on Confidentiality and Transparency.

Correspondence

  • The UK NCP updated the board on ongoing work to update its correspondence and guidance.

Item 6: Steering Board Composition

  • The UK NCP updated the Board on plans to refresh the composition of the steering Board.

Item 7: AOB

  • The Steering Board were thanked for their contributions.
