UK-Norway High Level Arrangement on cooperation on polar affairs

The governments of the United Kingdom and Norway have agreed to continue our positive cooperation on shared polar objectives.

Details

The governments of the UK and Norway have developed a new High Level Arrangement on matters relating to polar research and cultural heritage. It follows the success of the previous High Level Arrangement between the UK and Norway.

Under the Arrangement, both countries commit to continue to enhance our cooperation on research and policy issues in both the Arctic and the Antarctic. We will also continue to enhance our cooperation on managing shared cultural heritage in Antarctica, and in South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands.

The Foreign Ministers of the UK and Norway signed the High Level Arrangement in Oslo, Norway, on 11 March 2021.
