UK-Norway Memorandum of Understanding on polar research and cultural heritage

The United Kingdom and Norway have agreed to continue their positive cooperation on shared Polar objectives between 2017 and 2019.

Details

Following the great success of the previous Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the UK and Norway on matters relating to polar research and cultural heritage the Governments of the UK and Norway have agreed a new MOU, which will last until the end of 2019. The MOU commits both countries to continue to enhance their cooperation in relation to research in both the Arctic and the Antarctic and in relation to management of shared cultural heritage in Antarctica and South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. The MOU was signed in Oslo, Norway on 23 February 2017.
