UK - Republic of Korea joint statement: shared values, ever growing partnership

The UK and Republic of Korea agreed a joint statement on 21 August ahead of the signing of the UK - Republic of Korea continuity free trade agreement.

Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea met with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs First Vice Minister in Seoul on 21 August to confirm agreement and publication of a joint statement, which reaffirms our mutual commitment to human rights, counter-proliferation and trade liberalisation. They welcomed the forthcoming signing of the continuity free trade agreement and underlined their support for the rules based trading system. The UK and Republic of Korea will work closely together to promote and protect free trade, human rights, and fundamental freedoms, both domestically and through multilateral institutions.
