UK Sustainability Disclosures Policy and Implementation Committee (PIC)
Summary minutes of the 13th session of the PIC on 4 November 2024.
For more information on the remit and responsibilities of the Policy and Implementation Committee, see our Framework for developing UK Sustainability Reporting Standards, which is referred to as the ‘Framework Document’ in these minutes. Also in these minutes, ‘committee’ refers to the PIC. ‘The secretariat’ refers to the PIC secretariat, provided by the Department for Business and Trade (DBT).
1. Reliefs and effective reporting dates
The secretariat presented papers on the effective reporting date proposed for UK Sustainability Reporting Standards (UK SRS), the phase of work in which reliefs should be discussed by the committee, and the general approach that the committee should take to the treatment of reliefs.
The committee discussed the topic, noting the benefits of maintaining reliefs in UK SRS, and potential impacts for different groups of companies reporting against UK SRS at different times.
A follow-up discussion on some of the points raised was scheduled for a later committee session.
