Details

Within the framework of the UK-Viet Nam Strategic Partnership Agreement and the 2013 Action Plan, Foreign and Commonwealth Office Minister of State Hugo Swire and Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam Bui Thanh Son conducted the 3rd UK-Viet Nam Strategic Dialogue on 22 October 2013 in London, United Kingdom.

The two Vice Ministers were accompanied by senior officials from the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, the Ministry of Defence, the National Crime Agency, and the Home Office and the Vietnamese Ministries of Foreign Affairs, National Defence and Public Security.

The Strategic Dialogue covered global challenges, regional issues and bilateral relations, including cooperation on defence and security, international organised crime and migration. The Dialogue reflected the enhanced cooperation between the UK and Viet Nam and built upon the success of the UK-Viet Nam Action Plan mid-term review and the 2nd Dialogue held in Hanoi in June last year.
