UKHSA: Face coverings and COVID-19 – statement from an expert panel, 14 October 2021

Details

A series of papers from the Respiratory Evidence Panel in UKHSA on the role of face coverings in mitigating transmissions. This consists of a statement, overview of evidence, details on the composition of the panel and the letter of invitation.

These were available for participants to read at SAGE 96, but not considered or discussed in the meeting. These papers are the assessment of the evidence at the time of writing. As new evidence or data emerges, SAGE updates its advice accordingly.

These documents are released as pre-print publications that have provided the government with rapid evidence during an emergency. These documents have not been peer-reviewed and there is no restriction on authors submitting and publishing this evidence in peer-reviewed journals.
