Registering the birth of your child.
If you give birth in the UAE you can register the birth in the UK, this will then be recorded with the General Register Office or at the National Records Office of Scotland. Click here for the link. If you return to the UK to have the baby then you can register the birth using this link. Click here.
To apply for a passport for a First Time Applicant
To apply for a passport for a first time applicant from overseas Click here If you are resident in the UAE and chose to have your baby in the UK you can apply for the passport Here.
Alcohol Licence
As a resident you need an alcohol licence if you wish to purchase alcoholic beverages or consume alcohol either at home or in a hotel. For Abu Dhabi apply online at Special Licence Office website and collect your licence from a number of outlets. For Dubai apply on-line or at a local MMI or African & Eastern store. For other Emirates, contact the local authorities for more information.
