This document is intended for elected officals and others in the community who have an interest in how unauthorised camping by gypsies and travellers is managed in their area. It provides information to local authority officers and landlowners on options for dealing with incidents of unauthorised camping.

This guidance was produced to meet the government’s objective to ensure that the settled community and gypsies and travellers live together peacefully.
