Summary of the day

On 3 March 2020, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) hosted a digital event in London. This event brought together leading experts, competition authorities and academics to explore how technology is changing business models, investment in the digital economy and what this means for regulation.
CEO Andrea Coscelli welcomed delegates to the event, and Chairman, Lord Andrew Tyrie set the scene through an opening speech:
One way or another, we’re all trying to respond to the same question, how to shape the future development of digital markets in a way that can harness the benefits and minimise the harm.

The first panel discussed the impact of technology on business models and practices.
