An exploration of the key drivers and barriers to a successful high street. Reviews available research and analysis on the factors that impact on the economic and social performance of high streets, in order to provide an independent and robust evidence base. Includes several case studies. Aims to inform central and local government thinking on revitalising high streets, and to support the Mary Portas independent review of the high street (URN 11/1434).
