This report looks at 10 case studies of occupational regulation schemes. It explores the rationale, characteristics and impact of occupational regulation.

The case studies reflect both mandatory and voluntary regulation schemes, a variety of different rationales for establishing regulation, a range of geographical areas and different sectors, as well as different kinds of jobs and different skill levels.

The report also provides useful information to those seeking to design and implement forms of occupational regulation.
