The Universal Credit statistics background quality report provides an assessment against the 5 dimensions of quality required by the European Statistical System. These are:

  • relevance
  • accuracy and reliability
  • timeliness
  • accessibility and clarity
  • comparability and coherence

It also assesses against the principles of:

  • trade-offs between output quality components
  • confidentiality and transparency
  • balance between performance, cost and respondent burden
