This document provides users with information about the methodology and quality assurance steps used to produce the Universal Credit (UC) Work Capability Assessments (WCA) statistical releases in accordance with practices set out in the Code of Practice for Official Statistics.

  1. Published an updated version of the Universal Credit Work Capability Assessment statistics methodology. Updated section 2 with information about the Logic Integrated Medical Assessment software (LIMA), and updated the information about the UC WCA MSRS dataset in section 3. The latest release of the statistics were published today, 13 June 2024.

  2. Published an updated version of the Universal Credit Work Capability Assessment statistics methodology. The latest release of the statistics has been published today, 14 March 2024.

  3. Published an updated version of the Universal Credit Work Capability Assessment statistics methodology. New information has been added that the statistics are now classed as ‘Official Statistics’. The latest release of the statistics has been published today, 14 September 2023.
