Details

This guide gives advice on how to apply for the class of title to a registered estate to be upgraded. It is aimed at conveyancers and you should interpret references to ‘you’ accordingly. It explains the significance of different classes of title granted on registration of estates in land and how, and in what circumstances, the class of title may subsequently be upgraded.

  1. Form UT1 does not contain an option for the upgrading of a possessory or qualified leasehold title. Section 3.3 has been updated to confirm that, in this situation, form CS can be used in conjunction with form UT1.

  2. This edition of the guide replaces the March 2015 edition. Section 3.3 has been amended to reflect current practice on sending certified copies of documents in lieu of the originals.
