Details

This policy framework sets out the requirements and guidance for provision of access to PNC in prisons. It applies to all prisons that have been authorised by the police to have and to use PNC equipment. It also applies to any employee of His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (including those working on behalf of HMPPS in any capacity) who has been authorised to use PNC equipment or any information produced from the PNC. The requirements set out in the framework will help to ensure that such information is used lawfully, and in accordance with any relevant police requirements and guidance.
