Indirect Tax receipts statistics consultation - guidance and background note

Updated 19 August 2016

1. Summary

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) currently publish over 100 National Statistics bulletins each year on Indirect Tax receipts. It is not sustainable and not a justifiable use of time given the resource constraints HMRC has. As a result, HMRC is conducting this survey to better focus its limited resources in the future by reducing the frequency of its publications.

The proposed changes will not affect the breakdown of data contained within the publications, which will still be released on a monthly basis.

This survey sets out background information and asks you an average of 5 questions about the frequency of Indirect Taxes and its uses by customers depending on which section you choose.

The Indirect Taxes User Consultation is now closed (11th February 2016). The Monitoring Team would like to thank everyone who took part in this survey. The team will now analyse the responses and draft a response document which will be published here. Respondents who supplied their email addresses will be notified when the response document is published.
