They’re carried out by the Vehicle Market Surveillance Unit, part of the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency.
This year’s testing programme checked:
- advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)
- brake pads
- catalytic converters (CATs) and diesel particulate filters (DPFs)
- certificates of conformity
- electrically assisted pedal cycles
- e-scooters
- motorcycle exhaust systems and silencers
- motorcycle helmets and eye protection
- non-road mobile machinery (NRMM)
- small trailers
- tyres
- vehicle alterations
