Details of the application

VolkerStevin Infrastructure Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from the Superficial Aquifer Alluvium from an area between National Grid References (NGRs) SD 94374 17513, SD 94595 17506, SD 94396 17223 and SD 94270 17237 and transfer it to the River Roch at NGRs SD 94330 17359, SD 94407 17516, SD 94416 17351 and SD 94589 17500 without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 320 cubic metres an hour
  • 7,680 cubic metres a day
  • 600,000 cubic metres a year
  • All year.

Abstraction will take place 24 hours a day.
