About MOT vehicle testing station (VTS) council members
VTS council members represent a cross-section of the MOT industry and are used as a sounding board by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to get feedback about issues which effect the MOT scheme and test.
They’re regularly consulted through a series of formal meetings held around twice a year across the UK where DVSA keeps them informed about upcoming changes to the MOT industry.
In return, DVSA receives advice and feedback on the potential impact of any changes and how best to proceed and implement them.
The meetings cover a number of areas within DVSA’s control including:
- inspection methods
- MOT Modernisation and testing system improvements
- testing equipment and facilities
- testing standards
All authorised examiners (AEs) and Nominated Testers (NTs) are encouraged to raise any issues or question they have about the MOT scheme and test with their local VTS council member.
Any council member who you contact will then take up your specific issue directly with the DVSA or at the next round of meetings.
