References to legislation have been updated. When weighing vehicles, officers must now follow the Weighing Equipment (Non-Automatic Weighing Machines) Regulations 2016. Markings on instruments must also follow this legislation. Persons approved by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) are now authorised to carry out vehicle weigh tests. Appendix 2 now includes information about testing on sites surveyed by an authorised examiner.
