18 November 2016 - Welfare Benefits Services from 1 November 2016 - tender outcome published today
We have today published the outcome of the procurement process for a 2016 Standard Civil Contract (Welfare Benefits) to deliver Welfare Benefits Services in the North and/or the South West & Wales Procurement Areas from 1 November 2016.

26 May 2016 - No Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document to be published for procurement of Welfare Benefits Services from 1 November 2016
As we did not receive any questions of wider interest regarding the content of the Information for Applicants (IFA) for Welfare Benefits Services in the North and the South West & Wales Procurement Areas, we will not publish an FAQ document.
The deadline for questions about the IFA was 12 noon on 24 May 2016.

The deadline for submitting a Tender is 12 noon on 10 June 2016. Only organisations who have been invited to tender are able to submit a response to this procurement process.
13 May 2016 - Tender process for Welfare Benefits Services from 1 November 2015 opens today
We have invited eligible organisations to tender for Welfare Benefits Services commencing on 1 November 2016 in one or both of the following procurement areas:
- North and/or
- South West and Wales.
The deadline for submitting responses to this tender is 12pm on 10 June 2016.
Organisations must have submitted an expression of interest to participate in this procurement and been eligible to respond to this invitation to tender. Organisations wishing to deliver publicly funded welfare benefits services from 1 November 2016 in either of these procurement areas must submit a response to this invitation to tender.
Eligible applicant organisations have been invited to tender through the eTendering system. Their registered users on the eTendering system will have received an email notifying them of this. By clicking on the link in the notification email, Applicant organisations will be taken to the ‘Project’ containing the ITTs. Alternatively, applicant organisations that have been invited to tender will be able to access the relevant ITT(s) via the ‘My ITTs’ link within the eTendering system.
The Information For Applicants (IFA) that governs this procurement process is available in the documents section at the top of this page. The IFA provides full detail about this procurement process, including the criteria that applicant organisations must meet.

If you have any questions about the content of the procurement process or the Information For Applicants document these must be raised through the eTendering system by 12pm on 24 May 2016.

24 March 2016 - Expression of Interest (EOI) opens for welfare benefits services from 1 November 2016
We have today published an EOI to deliver welfare benefits services from 1 November 2016 in the North and the South West and Wales procurement areas.
To express your interest in this procurement an EOI form must be completed and emailed to civil.contracts@legalaid.gsi.gov.uk by the deadline of 12 noon 14 April 2016.
The EOI form can be found in the ‘documents’ section of this page.
Only those organisations that complete and return the form by the deadline will be invited to tender for a contract in May 2016.
25 February 2016 - Welfare benefits headline intentions published
We have today published a headline intentions document setting out the approach for procuring welfare benefits services from 1 November 2016.
We will be procuring a new Standard Civil Contract (Welfare Benefits) 2016 which will replace the 2014 Standard Civil Contract to deliver services in the North and South West and Wales procurement areas.
In March 2016 there will be an opportunity for organisations to express an interest in delivering welfare benefits services under the new Contract. Organisations that express an interest will be invited to submit a tender in April/May 2016.
New contracts will end in line with all other civil legal aid contracts on 31 March 2018.
