Published 18 October 2018
Applies to England
Details of the application
West Berkshire Council has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of the unnamed water course at SU 52410 68140 in Dunston Park, Thatcham, Berkshire.
Water will be obstructed or impeded for a Flood Alleviation Scheme. Two watercourses will be diverted through a bunded raised earth embankment basin. A discharge culvert will restrict flows in order to prevent downstream flooding during high flows. Water will therefore overflow into the basin.
