Details of the application

West King Street Renewal LLP has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from underground strata comprising of Chalk at Hammersmith Town Hall, King Street, London at National Grid Reference (NGR) TQ 22666 78419.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  •  119 cubic metres an hour
  •  1,042 cubic metres a day
  •  380,160 cubic metres a year

The water will be used for an Open Loop Ground Source Heat Pump System for a proposed development.

Further details are: a portion of the water will be returned to the Chalk aquifer via a re-injection borehole at NGR TQ 22639 78526.
