Details

West Midlands Trains Limited took over the running of the West Midlands services from 10 December 2017. A franchise agreement was entered into between the Secretary of State for Transport and West Midlands Trains Limited on 8 September 2017.

The contract with West Midlands Trains Limited was announced by the Transport Minister on 10 August 2017.

This agreement replaces the previous West Midlands 2016 franchise agreement.

The subsequent emergency measures and emergency recovery measures agreements were agreed in March and September 2020 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
