Details

Eligibility for the programme is determined by the patient’s age on 1 September 2016. From this date:

  • immunisation should be offered to patients
  • aged 70 for the routine programme
  • aged 78 for the catch-up programme

GPs may also continue to offer immunisation to all those who became eligible from 1 September 2013 (those aged 71 to 73, and 79 on 1 September 2016), if they have not already been immunised, until their 80th birthday.
