Whole House Retrofit grant award recipients - project summaries

1. London Borough of Sutton
This project aims to retrofit 91 non-traditional construction homes owned by Sutton Housing Partnership to the high standards. This is in partnership with Energiesprong UK and Turner & Townsend.
Fabric retrofit measures will include external wall insulation, roof board and insulated doors and windows. Other retrofit measures will include an air to water heat pumps, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery and thermostatic radiator valves.
2. Nottingham City Council
This project aims to retrofit 172 homes across two project sites in Nottingham. The projects will focus on a range of properties, from flats to houses, and retrofits will be carried out in partnership with Energiesprong UK. Fabric retrofit measures will include external wall insulation, underfloor insulation, and insulated doors and windows. Where appropriate, internal wall insulation will be used. and a ventilation system installed. Other retrofit measures will include solar photovoltaics and heat pump heating systems.
3. Cornwall Council
This project aims to retrofit 83 1950s semi-detached homes across Cornwall. This is supported by SSE, PRP and the Building Research Establishment. Fabric retrofit measures will achieve a thermally coherent, well insulated building, complemented by air-tightness measures, thermal bridging detail and effective ventilation to maximise health, comfort and environmental quality. An innovative external wall insulation will be used along with a ventilation, comfort, and hot water system. Under-floor insulation will also be installed.
