William John Chinn and Henry Chinn trading as Cobrey Farms has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from inland water known as Coughton Brook, at Coughton, Ross-on-Wye at National Grid Reference SO 61199 21688.
The application is to abstract water all year as follows:
- 360 cubic metres an hour
- 8,640 cubic metres a day
- 200,000 cubic metres a year
The water will be used for filling a reservoir for storage for subsequent spray and trickle irrigation. The abstraction will be subject to a hands off flow condition to protect the watercourse at times of low river flow.
