Details of the application

William Mathias, Thomas Mathias, Jane Mathias and Jeremy Mathias Trading as C.G.J Mathias & Son (Nurseries) has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from The River Wey (North Branch), from a reach between National Grid References SU 86496 44669 and SU 86857 44436.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 60 cubic metres an hour
  • 480 cubic metres a day
  • 18,000 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 March and 31 October inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for spray irrigation.
