Details of the application

Willow Grove Farm Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from drains within the Lakenheath Internal Drainage Board at Willow Grove Farm, Suffolk between National Grid References:

TL 72648 84374 to TL 72613 84263 TL 72499 83994 to TL 72318 84120 TL 72591 84132 to TL 72498 83989 TL 72591 84132 to TL 72401 84242 TL 72740 84174 to TL 72613 84263 TL 72637 83978 to TL 72730 84157

The application has been made as part of a water rights trade with no increase of volumes.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 26 cubic metres an hour
  • 331 cubic metres a day
  • 4,420 cubic metres a year
  • between April and October inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for spray irrigation.
