The Ombudsman is investigating complaints that since 1995 DWP has failed to provide accurate, adequate and timely information about changes to the State Pension age for women. This document sets out our findings about the adequacy of DWP’s communication.
We found that from 2005 onwards, there were failings in the action taken by DWP to communicate the State Pension age. This report describes how DWP failed to make reasonable decisions based on the information it had available and failed to communicate with the women affected with enough urgency.
