The Minister of State for Development and Africa, as UK Governor to the World Bank Group, alongside the Chancellor of the Exchequer as Alternate Governor, made a statement to the World Bank’s Annual Meetings Development Committee in Marrakech on 12 October 2023.

It calls on the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and international community to commit to a concerted effort to deliver a bigger, better, and fairer international finance system.

The minister stressed the vital role of the World Bank in delivering reform priorities whilst working towards increasing financing and ambition.
