The Foreign Secretary, as UK Governor to the World Bank alongside Alternate Governor the Chancellor of the Exchequer, reiterated UK support for development finance institutions as a means of delivering vital aid.

The Foreign Secretary welcomed the World Bank’s rapid intervention at the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis. He called on the international finance community to reduce poverty and famine, support the most vulnerable in society and use sustainable development to help the world build back better through aid in the months to come.
