The Foreign Secretary, as UK Governor to the World Bank Group alongside Alternate Governor the Chancellor of the Exchequer, reflected on the importance of the World Bank one year on from the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Foreign Secretary acknowledged the vital role of the World Bank and their staff during the pandemic, but also pushed them to do more to meet the need of the poorest countries. He also called for further support for the delivery of vaccines, on ensuring a green, inclusive and resilient recovery.
