As part of assuring quality of our outputs, table ENV0103 has been discontinued. The estimates produced from the reported CO2 emissions of cars and vans, translated into fuel efficiency from the amount of carbon in petrol and diesel did not take into account use of or developments in vehicle technology and other factors which will affect these figures.
We recommend using data from the Vehicle Certification Agency on fuel consumption, which use more detailed CO2 emissions tests (New European Driving Cycle and Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure) to determine fuel consumption.
