Criminal court statistics (quarterly): January to March 2016
The publication will include receipts, disposals and outstanding criminal cases in the Crown Court by the 12 standard offence groups for the first time; the tables will subsequently be included in the quarterly bulletins. In addition the publication will include for the first time the number of defendants accepted in the Crown Court via the direction of magistrates or defendant election. The data will become part of the set of annual tables. The statistics will be badged as "experimental statistics" and will not display the National Statistics logo, as data are still being evaluated and remain subject to further testing in terms of their reliability and ability to meet customer needs.
