Type and volume of cases received and processed through the criminal court system of England and Wales, including statistics on case timeliness. Also includes statistics on the use of language interpreter and translation services in courts and tribunals, England and Wales.

Statistics release cancelled

The release of the latest statistics has been postponed for further quality assurance following concerns about the quality of key data inputs. This is in line with the Code of Practice for Statistics. This will also affect the published back series. HMCTS and MoJ are working at pace to conduct detailed case reviews in order to understand the precise extent of these quality issues. Until this work concludes, it is too early to quantify reliably the issue. We will keep this page updated with future publication plans.
