Reason for change:
As announced when we published the 2022 annual data in May 2023 and cancelled the subsequent Q1 2023 publication, we are transitioning to modern data processing methods to enable greater ownership, flexibility and functionality of the data. This will present further opportunities for more thorough, accurate and timely analysis and insight in future publications. We are close to completing this work but a few minor issues that have arisen during quality assurance require additional time to resolve to ensure that the raw data recorded in the criminal courts is accurately reflected in our statistics outputs. We have therefore decided to delay the Q2 2023 publication until 18th January 2024 which will include new tables up to Q2 2023 and revise annual figures published in May 2023. Users should contact us at CJS_Statistics@justice.gov.uk if they have concerns.
