Details

Statistics on attitudes around travel and transport issues, asked of people who have completed the main National Travel Survey.

Questions in wave 3 were put to 2,694 individuals and includes responses on a wide array of topics, including:

  • active transport (e.g. walking and cycling)
  • road journeys and the environment
  • road congestion
  • road safety
  • public transport
  • transport and disability

Headline figures include:

  • 48% of respondents are concerned about poor air quality in their immediate area
  • 40% of respondents are concerned about noise pollution in their immediate area
  • 61% of respondents have heard of carbon offsetting
  • among respondents who are planning to purchase a new bicycle, 32% say they are likely to purchase an e-bike
