Proven reoffending statistics: October to December 2018
Statistics on reoffending of offenders who were released from custody, received a non-custodial conviction, or a caution. This release will include proven reoffending statistics for the April to June 2018, July to September 2018 and October to December 2018 offender cohorts. This will bring the original release calendar for proven reoffending statistics up to date. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused MoJ to have to change its data gathering, access and release practices, focussing efforts on priority analysis and statistics. In particular, access to the Police National Computer had been paused, to minimise non-essential travel by our analysts. In line with guidance https://www.statisticsauthority.gov.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Regulatory-guidance_changing-methods_Coronavirus.pdf from the Office for Statistics Regulation, the decision has therefore been made not to include the proven reoffending rates for restricted patients statistics as part of this publication. We will keep users updated regarding when we will be releasing these statistics via our published release calendar.
