Tax reliefs statistics
The next release of the estimated cost tax reliefs statistics will be on 10 December 2021. This publication was previously released in October 2020. The release date has now been confirmed as being 10 December 2021. The tax reliefs publication was delayed until December from a provisional release date of September/October 2021. This was to ensure that there was sufficient time for the preparation and quality assurance of the tax reliefs statistics after the Autumn Budget on 27 October. The release includes cost estimates for structural and non-structural tax reliefs for the period 2016-17 to 2021-22. Additionally, the experimental statistics are planned to be expanded, providing single-year cost estimates for some of the tax reliefs which were listed in the publication ‘Non-structural tax reliefs costs unavailable (October 2020)’. This will increase transparency about the cost of tax reliefs by providing estimates for tax reliefs where the cost was previously unavailable.
