Total Factor Productivity for England by Farm Type (based on the Farm Business Survey) – experimental statistics
Experimental statistics providing the estimates of Total Factor Productivity (TFP) for England from 1990/91 to 2017/18 for selected farm types using Farm Business Survey. Total Factor Productivity is a key measure of the economic performance of agriculture. It represents how efficiently the agricultural industry uses the resources that are available to turn inputs into outputs. The methodology used to calculate the UK National Statistics for “TFP for the agricultural industry” has been applied to Farm Business Survey data for England, with outputs and inputs adjusted for quality by weighting the volumes by value. The information comes from the 1990/91 to 2017/18 England Farm Business Surveys.
