United Kingdom and England soil nutrient balances, 2018
The soil nutrient balances are an annual dataset that measure the environmental pressure from nitrogen and phosphorus use in agriculture. These are key nutrients applied to meet crop growth requirements. The balances estimate the difference between inputs (mainly as fertilisers and manures) and offtake such as the growth of crops and grass. An increase in the balance indicates a greater environmental risk from nutrient losses to air and water.
