Details

Statistics on parking badges for disabled people (‘Blue Badges’) in England. The main Blue Badge statistics are obtained from the Blue Badge Improvement Service (BBIS) database.

For badges held as at 31 March 2019:

  • 2.29 million were held
  • 42% were held without further assessment
  • 4.1% of the population held a Blue Badge

For prosecutions in the financial year ending 2019, there were:

  • 1,432 prosecutions for misuse of Blue Badges
