Census of Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services in Northern Ireland 2014
This bulletin summarises information collected in the fifth census of statutory and non-statutory drug and alcohol treatment services in Northern Ireland to establish the number of persons in treatment for drug and/or alcohol misuse.

In 2004 the Public Health Information and Research Branch (PHIRB) was tasked with taking forward a project to collect information regarding the number of individuals in treatment for drug and/or alcohol misuse.The initial Census was taken on 1st March 2005 and was repeated on 1st March 2007, 1st March 2010 and 1st March 2012. PHIRB, in conjunction with the Drug and Alcohol representatives from each Health and Social Care Trust, developed a comprehensive list of statutory and non-statutory treatment services that were invited to contribute to the data collection exercise.
