Changes to Travel to Work Areas 2001 to 2011
Travel to Work Areas have been developed as approximations to self-contained labour market areas, reflecting areas where the majority of the resident workforce both live and work. This article looks at the changes in the number of Travel to Work Areas over time, with consideration as to the reasons for this, and focuses in particular on changes to the largest Travel to Work Areas as defined following the 2001 and 2011 Census.
